The Christmas Charade
剧情简介
FBI agent Josh Dawson is a humorless loner which doesn't sit well with many of his fellow agents. Working on a case for six months of thus far six priceless artifacts being stolen, he is on the verge of being pulled from the case by his superior, Agent Michaels, as he has nothing to show for his efforts. However, he is given a reprieve when he enters the next phase of his investigation in going undercover to meet with his one and only suspect, Lou Bateman, whose wife Patty Bateman is on the Board of the New York Arts and History Museum where and when he believes the next artifact will be stolen: the Heart of Christmas, a necklace only put on display once a year, this time at the Mistletoe Ball on Christmas Eve, the charity event for the museum which is being organized by Patty. Failure in having anything concrete on Lou Bateman immediately following the Mistletoe Ball means Josh will be reassigned to a desk job in the proverbial basement. That reprieve is only on the caveat that he work undercover with a female agent, Kiera Tanner, whose role is to keep him in line. But he hits a wrinkle in the plan when at that initial meeting with the Batemans at a restaurant, sitting at the table with him is not Kiera, but rather Whitney who, in a case of mistaken identity, thought Josh was her blind date. Rather than ruin that six months of work, Josh is able to convince Michaels and Whitney for her to assume that undercover role with the Batemans. She, an elementary school librarian, agreeing to do so is despite such work being the furthest thing from Whitney's mentality in being taught by her parents, who owned their own home security installation company, to be risk averse. Whitney lives vicariously through books and movies, they the most excitement she is provided in her otherwise staid life. The questions then become whether Whitney can pull off this true adventure in her life, and whether Josh can not only work with another person but a pure neophyte.
