He kept out of battle as a lifeguard during the Korean War by dating an officer's daughter but was caught during an onboard tryst when their army plane crashed. Eight seasons on tv in "Rawhide" would be his salvation and render Eastwood king of spaghetti westerns. 84 films about cowboys, crime, war, a romance and boxing would yield four Best Picture and Directing Oscars for "Unforgiven" and "Million Dollar Baby". The movie mogul turned Mayor of Carmel, California in 1986. Time out to play jazz piano, pilot planes and father eight children. There are plans to direct "Juror #2" what Clint calls his "final" film. No surprise if it is not his last.
